I want to have the ability to be in a certain member group such as admin, but still have ranks like jr. member, sr. member etc. 

What i mean is this:

Can you have rank images for a post based group but none for special groups such as admin?

I still want admin as my primary group but i want to have a rank image for the amount of posts i have and not for admin.  Can anyone help here?

nevermind mates, i figured it out.  It seems you can make no rank images for special groups and have them for post groups. 

Simple, all you do is go to the special groups in Admin>Membergroups and choose which ones you want to get rid of and then clear out the rank image, you'll get a red x, but don't worry it will go away.  Then just make membergroups based on posts and chose rank images to fit them.  Like i chose the border chrome ones which look really cool.  I can still distigush the member's groups by the color on their name, red for admin, green for mod, teal for super mod( a mod with a couple more abilites).  You just need one really well done code by agent moose, http://smcodes.smfforfree3.com/index.php/topic,234.0.html
