How Do You Lock a Board or Shut Down A board???

I am on the admin staff and we have major member problems on our board right now. I would like to know how you lock a board down because it temporarily needs to be locked until I can get in touch with the head of  Admin who is out of town right now. I want to do this and have her full support on any decisions that I make that is for the good of the board.

To make sure we are on the same page with terminology -    when you say you want to "lock down the board" do you mean ONE Board in a Category or do you mean the entire forum so it cannot be used rigtht now?

If you mean the entire forum (and if you do have Admin access) then put it in Maintenance Mode.
Admin/Forum Settings/checkmark in Maintenance Mode/Save

If you mean one specific Board then go to Admin > Boards and modify that Board's settings and uncheck all membergroups so they cannot see that Board.

Personal note on my part:   Sounds like you and the Admin need to discuss how to handle issues on the forum.   Shutting the entire forum down and thereby punishing everyone seems abit rash.    You could easily if its REALLY necessary to do so,  do a short term ban on the offenders so they are not able to use the forum for a short time and those that are causing no problems can still use it and arent punished for the actions of a few.   Just my 2 cents
