You can't. You can only use the ones in the Star File List.

You can change those images by using the image swapper:

didnt work.. its still the normal aqua star..

did you use the image swapper program, insert the url to the new image, and also remember to include the "full url" to the old image? You cant just use the name thats listed in yoru admin panel, it needs the full url to that aquastar image.

Follow that guide step by step and it will work

i put this aqua url, then i put my new image's imageshack url.. added the footer... typed 1staraqua.gif and its still the same

The first thing you need to do is go to your admin panel and see what the actual name of the file is you have on that membergroup (Admin CP > Membergroups > Modify the group

Then you need to follow this guide step by step:

In the left box that says "Old Url" you need to type in this url:

http://www.smfboards.com/ranks/1staraqua.gif

Change the name 1staraqua.gif to the name that you actually have in that membergroup  (if when you modified that membergroup and the name actually IS 1staraqua.gif then the above url will not need changing)

in the box labeled "New Image" - insert the url to your new image

click get code - insert that code into your footers, click save, and refresh your browser
