my forum applegfx.smfforfree3.com I think it's being hacked i looked at the wo's online and it said the guest is editing forum news help!!!!!

your forum is not being hacked
The IP  (66.249.*.*) is a search engine spider from Google.  
Its not actually editing your news nor editing forum settings.. it can not do so.

Many "bots" will visit your forum from time to time.. they index your forum.. it'll make it easier to find by people doing searchs.

Some common IPs:
(there are TONS more - this is an OLD and short list)
66.249.*.*         Googlebot
74.6.*.*            Yahoo! Slurp
72.30.*.*          Yahoo! Slurp
65.55.*.*           msnbot
207.46.*.*         msnbot
65.214.*.*        AskJeeves/Teoma
71.13.*.*          bot.bot
