Ummm, now I lost everything, all my coding, all my hard work, hours put in to make it look pretty.
Do I have to go back and add all these codes again?  I cant even change the theme, do the portal, etc.... I am trying to have patience, really I am :-\

I searched for this error message...but I see there is not really an answer to it.

So I'll reply to this thread :)

One of my members is getting this message when she is trying to post...

"session verification error" and a request to log out and back in again

She just PM'd me this message below..

I got this message...

The topic or board you are looking for appears to be either missing or off limits to you.
Please login below or register an account with Crime Chatter.

then I refreshed the forum and read another PM and when I tried to quote it....

then It automatically logged me out again....

and I got this message....

Only registered members are allowed to access this section.

I tried to refresh and it wouldn't work....

I've been getting both of those messages along with the session verification error message....

I am working on a different computer right now because I killed mine.... So maybe that is the problem....

Any idea's?

Thank you for your help

Kimberly

SMF For Free knows who is logged in and who isn't logged in by makin unique ID and assigning it to a forum name. Then it takes this ID and has the home computer download it, in the form of what is called a cookie.

Whenever the forum needs to check who is logged in and who isn't...it looks for this 'cookie' on that persons computer. It finds the unique ID and figures out who is logged into the forum and who isn't.

Unfortunately...sometimes computers can reject or delete the cookies.

So. You're going to have to figure out from this member what is going on with their computer since the issue might not be SMF For Free's fault.

Ask them what browser they're using. Internet Explorer? Firefox? Opera?
Windows XP? Vista? Mac? Other?
Ask them if they've noticed any patterns with when they get logged out. Is it if they leave the computer for a bit? Only when they're posting or messaging? Randomly?
Did my answer help you? Want to help out hosting costs?
