Forum Slow

  Sorry but SMF is great, and i wont compain. Other hosts take weeks to sort things out and never go on to their support forums, we should be grateful

Given the time of nite that this happened  (I was online,  working on my forum when it happened and it was VERY late)  I expected to not see it back up and running until the morning hours here and its much later there where the server is located.

I dont think he sits there for 24 hours staring at the server, 

and yep..  its a free service.
Ive used several of them and as mentioned earlier you normally get NO response and little help.

People do sleep and I am one of them. You can try donating for the server costs.

The internet is a global place, I had assumed you represented a global  company, we aren't all domiciled in  the States.

I  would have thought,as you advertise a free forum service that you would have had the business plan  and   advertising clients in place to fund your business   rather than rely on donations from those who  make use of your  advertised, free,services.

On the positive side, SMF offers some of the best features I have experienced for a free forum service.

I would dispute that.

I was with  a free provider ,  and their support was second to none.

Their  support forum responded within hours of a query and sorted it within hours.

The only reason I left  was due to personal issues within my forum.

But , as I said before SMF  offer far more facilities than   many other providers.

However SMF is a lone person. He cannot do something like that...and just wake up for every support problem.

It isn't a huge organization or group working here. Every post here, every mod, every theme or server fix is put together, alone, by SMF For Free. 1 person

Bumping this because the forums have been slow for most of the evening/night...and I was just wondering if anyone knew why?  I thought maybe that all of us playing with the gallery feature might have been a bit taxing on the server, perhaps?

Yeah, been a bit slow, but nothing major. As long as the page loads (properly, and without errors) then I'm fine.
