Hi. I dont mean to be such a pain, but I dont understand what I am doing wrong. I had to go back and contact dailyrazor.com as they held my domain name. They did update the nameservers for me, and told me to allow a couple days for it to work. It still isnt working, so when I signed onto my site today i went directly to domain manager to see what steps I am missing. I typed in the new domain name where it asks what one I want to park. (soulsinserenity.org). I then clicked on verify URL, and it showed the number 1, so I clicked on update URL. THere is still no change. Can anyone help me?

Uh oh. Now I just tried to access my admin panel and it will not allow me to. It goes directly to a search page on the web which says that domain does not exist or is unavailable. I need help, badly. $:-\$

how long has it been since you had them update the nameservers?

Im afraid I know little about this. Im not using it myself. I dont know if he has it set to use .org addresses (I would assume he does) If someone else here doesnt have an answer to help you , you may need to try Reset Default Forum Url to orginal in the Domain Manager until SMF can get back with you about this

nearly 72 hours.
I cant get into the panel to reset it back either.

It is actually the entire board. I can get to the main admin page if typed in instead of clicking on the tab, and I can get to the board by typing it all in (smf domain), but the moment I click on anything at all it goes to web page saying it doesnt exist or unavailable.

try this to reset it to the default url:

Thank You sibyl. At first it took me to that same search engine, but after I clicked it again, It did take me to my admin panel and allowed me click on the rest back to default. I was also able to post in a topic. So for now, We can access the board, and will wait patiently untill we can get the domain parking figured out.

You are welcome. I'm sorry that I'm not of much help with this one. I've sent off a flair to get SMF's attention on this thread and asked for his help with it. More then likely that will be this evening I would think. Someone else may come along who has done this and has some better answers for you..

Just so SMF knows you did have them updated to the following right?

Yes. This is what I gave them.

ns1.soulsinserenity.org with IP of 66.135.48.75
ns2.soulsinserenity.org with IP of 66.135.48.75

I copied and pasted it to them.

I just sent an email to their technical department requesting verification of what nameservers and IP addys the domain name was updated to. We will see if they match. Ill come let you know as soon as I hear back from them.

I could be way off base and am only guessing but maybe its still not updated.
It did tell you a "1" when you verified the link though.

That is the first time I was able to bring my forum up with it. So upon looking further, I found the difference is whether or not I used www. before typing in the domain. When using www.soulsinserenity.org, it will not come up. When typing in as soulsinserenity.org (without the www.) it does come up.
In the domain manager, please look at steps 2 and final step. This is a little confusing to me.

Step 1:
You will need to create two name servers at the register for your domain.
These two nameservers contain the following information

Nameserver 1:
Domain: ns1.yourdomainname.com
IP Address:66.135.48.75
Nameserver 2:
Domain: ns2.yourdomainname.com
IP Address:66.135.48.75

Replace yourdomainname.com with the domain that you are going to use for your forum.

Next, you need to change the nameservers on the domain to
ns1.yourdomainname.com
And
ns2.yourdomainname.com

Step 2: - Add the domain to our system

Enter your domain name that you wish to park
http://www.

Final Step
After the nameservers have been added takes about 24 to 48 hours for the DNS changes to take affect. You can now try to change over the urls on your forum to your domain name.
Domains
soulsinserenity.org VERIFY URL click on verify link if you see 1 you can update the url. Update Forum Url

Reset Default Forum Url to orginal

UPDATE

the nameservers are listed correctly when i just did a 'WhoIs' search. I wanted to make sure of that. Now the tricky part is applying to my site. The site is still under construction so Im not real pressed for time yet. I can still be a patient butterfly for now
