Yep its slow for me, and its not just this past week it seems more and more it is happening...so very annoying when we have over 40,000 members and have at least 700 on everyday and have all of this happening.  Why does this happen frequently?

I have been getting the same error messages for over week. Yes, it is intermittent. However, my members are starting to complaining.  The forum is VERY SLOW.  I have been patient, only asking about the connection issues one time over the last week.  However, now I'm getting frustrated and angry.  I donate to SMF, buy ad free credits on a monthly basis, etc.  I should not be treated with a little more respect than I have.

All I want to know is what the problem is and estimated time as to when it will be fixed.

Well... Let me be the first to tell you that your efforts failed.  Not only is it slower than ever, half the time I cannot log in and I get the dreaded error message:

Since Im only a Moderator for the Support Forum and have no way to know about server issues the only thing I CAN advice those of you who are having this problem to do is to take a hard look at the size of your threads.   Those of you who are having this problem all have large forums with some very large threads in them.    SMF has stated many times that this can and will slow your forums down.   Also look at purging your member bases and getting rid of inactive members.    It may look good to show a lot of members and a lot of posts on the main board but if it is slowing down your forums is it really worth it?     Please keep in mind I am only trying to help out here.     I have two server 1 forums.   Neither of them has had a problem for weeks.   I am not seeing white screens, error messages,  or experiencing slowdowns.

Thanks Sibyl...

We had been pretty cautious recently about the size of the threads, etc....but we just had a big influx of new members and some of them are posting like crazy people...so perhaps that's the issue.  If I could get in there...we'd start to clean out!  LOL...

hi foxx :)     Murpheys Law.   AFter days of saying it does not happen at my own forum, it now is.   Same error message you guys are getting and I have no large threads -  Ive made sure to keep them smaller to avoid this issue.

See!  I turn up and its bad luck for my friend sibyl!   :smitten:

Is there any way that us oldies (server 1 peeps) can be moved to Server 4?  It seems as if our longevity with this service has only screwed all of us over lately!

Kinda doubt it.  He has stated forums can not be moved from one server to another.

Well...I know that the main Badge Addicts forum is way bigger than my forum which is the Badge Addicts tourney forum.....we both are having problems...and until recently didn't have this come up quite as often...maybe once in awhile...now it seems to be daily.  Just had a connection message again when I got home from work as soon as I tried to click on anything in the forum.

Now I can't get on at all.

I totally agree with Lib, Foxx and Riley.  This is getting to be not only a daily occurrence,  but more than several times a day.  Like others, our members are complaining, and all I can do is tell them to be patient.  I sure wish there was a way to move to Server 4, other than copy and pasting everything and re registering every one, which would be a pain in the you know where and would not even be feasible.
Whatever SMF did with the changes to the database, sure didn't help at all.  It just seems to be Server 1 and doesn't matter how big your forum is, how many members you have or anything, but all help is appreciated.

Rednight I totally understand and wish I had an answer for you.    At the moment pogorejects cannot be reached yet my site can and they are both on server 1.    Very confusing.
