Change the width of my forum
« on: June 21, 2007, 09:57:28 pm »
Forum Url: http://unboundkillerz.smfforfree3.com
Hello,

I have made two forums, one being a test forum the other being the main forum that I run for a gaming clan/community. I am using the same code for the sidebar and the same code for the template. BUT! My test sight...(loomis2.smfforfree.com) has everything fitting on the page. The main sight, unboundkillerz, requires me to scrol to get full sight of the forums. Puzzles me why this is happening with both codes being basically the same........Could be the images in the header/footer are different sizes from one forum to the next?

Thanks

lOOmis

check the forum width in the css code:

Code: [Select]
/* The main body of the entire forum. */
body
{
background-color: #E5E5E8;
margin: 0px;
padding: 12px 30px 4px 30px;

}

See if changing the margins of your forum wull help. in my example:

12px = margin for the top
30px (1st one) = the right margin
4px = bottom margin
30px (2nd one) = left margin

Thanks Kimmie,

I changed the image on the bottom...footer to a slightly smaller scale and it worked. The top image covers over the sidebar. Turned out looking pretty good, and its functional..... ;D

I will keep your code in my notes for future use though.

Thanks
