Board Timing Out and Slow Connecting - SMF Please Check Again

Just updated smfforfree.com and smfforfree2.com to use FASTCGI now trying on smfforfree3/smfforfree4

That seemed to fix it for a few minutes, aside from two occasions of '503 Service Unavailable', but now it's resetting the connection again...

Thinking of some options at moment. Leaning on the moment getting a seperate server just for createaforum instead of having it on server3/4

Would really like to get a larger db server for smfforfree maybe 16 to 32gigs of ram. Have to think about it would be about another 5k to 7k per year cost wise.

Made a change moved all arcade games/files to be hosted on amazon to help a little bit with load.

Update think I figured out what happened yesterday.

Thought it was kind of bizarre for all servers to suddenly start to timeout so wanted to find out what caused that to happen.

Our hosting system uses stopforumspam to check for spammers on registration. Noticed that there site was down and returned errors on some my sites and the hosting system. Which probably caused the timeout issues since it could not connect to that third party site to check registration and just builtup the number of connections.

What we have done to fix this was to disable the stopforumspam check system and also moved the arcade and the default smiles to amazon to help reduce the number of requests.

Hi, is 3 running slow again?  Seemed pretty good for a while earlier today but maybe 2 hours ago started running slow and timing out again...
