Keep this in mind too.
A chatbox should be just an addition to your forum.
If it is a main attraction and your members only use it and do not post your forum really goes nowhere.

With some tweaking you can do a lot with it.
Stick it in your portal or there are some codes in the Code Index too.
Ive got a couple of examples on my site  (links in my sig)
(not advertising - the forum is just a place I store my codes and not active)
