Limited members still able to vierw forum sections

I have a usergroup called New Member and the permissions are minimal. Also, in the Admin>Boards, I have certain boards properties unchecked for "New Members", however, new members can still see these sections.  I want these sections not to show up for them.  How do I ensure this?

If they have other membergroups that allow them to see those boards..they will see them.

The only way to do it is to design your membergroups in such a way that only certain membergroups can see those boards, since 'denying' a board is not possible.

Thats exactly what I did.  "New Member" is unchecked in alot of the boards via Admin>Boards, however, "New Member" can still see these sections when logged in.

It is likely that the other membergroups that this member is a part of is affecting the boards they can see.

By being a part of another post count based group they are assigned permission to see those boards.

You should set it to post count. Eg. 5 posts for them to move up so they won't be a New Member anymore.

You have no post count based groups at all?

I cannot think of any reasons, unless you have done this improperly along the way.

I'll echo Crasys Question.   Did you delete all of the post count based groups and create a New Member group in Regular Groups?      (you cannot delete ALL of them actually.. when a member signs up they are automatically put in the new member/newbie however you have it named group and that IS a post count based group)   If you did so you would have to move them to that New Member group yourself.

Possibly check Permissions > Permissions by Board
If any of the boards are set to Local click on their names... you'll be at the Membergroup Permissions for that specific board.   Check the new member permissions to see how they are set.
You'll have to do that for every board that is Local.

You can also at any time Generate a Report to check on your Board Settings, Permissions etc.  Just go to Admin > Generate Reports
