Dynamic Signature Came Out Great!!
« on: June 23, 2009, 10:03:57 am »
Hey SMF Support!

The dynamic signatures were recently fixed, so they are now fully functional!

Mine came out great! Heres a screenshot of it:

You can see yours by going to Admin > Promote your Forum and scrolling down to the Custom Signature Creator!

Or by following this code, you can do it easily:
Code: [Select]
http://BOARD.smfforfreeX.com/banners/banner.php
Changing BOARD to the name of your board (what shows at the very top) example:
Quote
http://NAME.smfforfreeX.com/index.php
NAME would be the name of the forum.
The blue X is for the server, if you are server 1, just backspace it out, otherwise, replace it with a 2, 3 or 4

Show them off here! They came out great! :)

Where did you place it and what code did you use?
It gives you the bbcode and html code at the bottom of that page.

You can't put it in the logo image url area in Current Theme -  it will not work from there.
You could put it in your header.
If you want an area like what is at the top of the forum (where it says SMF for Free Support Forum)  give me a few minutes and I'll whip up a code for you to put in your Header.

Here you go - put it at the bottom of your Header.   Make sure to put the url for the banner in it.

Code: [Select]
<!--Promotion Banner at top of Forum-->
<div class="tborder" >
 <table width="100%" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" border="0">
  <tr>
   <td class="catbg" style="text-align: center;">
     <img src="PUT THE URL FOR THE BANNER HERE" />
   </td>
  </tr>
 </table>
</div>

I thought this would automatically post sig banners where users don't have one (haven't edited their profiles & added one).

I think the fact you can upload a sig or edit colors is confusing.

If you're supposed to be able to see something (current signature), I do not.  I keep trying to upload a 468x60 png & nothing.

Since it gives you code to post I tried to post the bbcode into my sig under my profile.  It's not showing up...not on my profile or the boards.

I'm just flat confused.  Unless someone's an admin & can reach the back end - how are they gonna get this code from under "promote your forum"?

Clarification would be much appreciated.  :)
