A Rant To Rap
« on: March 22, 2008, 11:07:12 pm »
I know most of you most likely don't agree with this: But to be honest, as a BOY who's spent the last 2 years of his life listening to music, It's been pretty rough just to like classic rock.
I mean, I don't like rap. I don't like the beat, I don't like the music, and I don't like how most of them act. Also it has seen good days, but it's ruined now, I don't like it at all. I mean all they talk about are drugs, money, and women. So? Any rich guy can get those things.
I mean guys, listen to some AC/DC or some Aerosmith or Guns N' Roses, my favorite. Or some songs like "Slow Ride" by Foghat, or "Cliffs Of Dover" or "Sweet Child O' Mine" or "Welcome To The Jungle" or any of those that you like.
Rap, is just, like, no diversity. Sure there are black and white rappers, but they all talk about: Money, Drugs, and Women. Rock, dude, no limit. You can say anything and as long as it has a solo, and a few riffs and bridges, and an awesome singer, it's perfect. Anyone can pick up a guitar and do it. Now, your kids could pick up a guitar and play. Yet, can they swear and say they have (Let's just say this isn't a proper word) all around them? Nope.
Anyways, go ahead and rant me. It's just my opinion about music.
I do like one rapper, but I just like about 2 of his songs. Eminem.
There are also many good genres, like:
Metal, Rock (Not Classic), Heavy Metal, A select few Emo songs...and others like Jazz, Choir and others.
But, that's my opinion, please feel free to express yours.

I'll be 50 yrs old in 9 months and you'll still see me cranking up the stereo to "Slow Ride"  :smitten:
I miss the good music when music was rock & roll.
Good CD to get is the soundtrack to "Dazed & Confused". I borrow it from my son every now and then  :)

Ahah. I had a feeling everyone would hate me for posting that.  :o But I guess I was proven wrong, for the first person who came here just said they agree.

I hate Rap. Not a fan of it. Seriously. I'm not the swearing type of person. Though I'm simply a fan of rock bands.  ;D

Not classical music, classic rock.

You might just want to think a teeny tiny bit about creating a thread that could get volatile.  While reasonable discussion is cool, a firestorm has an interesting end result.

Well, if someone creates a fire, I guess I've got to put it out.
