I've been wondering...

Out of the many forums made very day by SMFforFree, which ones actually go on to become successful or large forums?

I know one of them >.>... *coughBCFcough*

Buster Cannon Forums, and BCF-Comics.

It all depends on what the topic content is- If its not popular content, its not going to do very well. THeres alot of factors that play key roles in determining whether or not a forum will be succesful.

(in all honesty - this sounds like an ad for your forum, not really a question)  ;)

Ah, it's a decent topic. I don't care about any ad here.

Out of the almost 4-5 forums that I used to have here I managed to reach the 50 member mark on just two of them. However all 5 of them had very similar content and obviously...a similar administration.

I kinda wondered, why did only 2 of my forums become slightly popular while the other 3 totally failed?
Mostly just how hard I worked on them. One of the forums that failed I was always busy with homework. The other forum that failed I had no time to really put effort into because I was always on other websites. The last website happened to be built during my hockey season...so I was always busy practicing and playing.

The first two...nothing. I put a lot of effort into those and advertising for those.

I think that with ANY content you can get a popular forum(in the end everybody will end up flocking to your Off-Topic and discussion board) depending on how much effort you throw into the site. The content can be a boost...but if you lay back and expect the content to do the work for you, you'll fail.
