I don't think that would be a very good idea.  There are too many spammers and potty mouths that would keep the mods too busy to answer questions.

It would be impossible to moderate.
It would be impossible to do support thru a chatbox here and the posts in it would be gone, not saved here, for others to find thru searchs which could help them in the future.
It would be spammed,  used for chatting, and nuisance posts

Sorry but it is a really bad idea for a Support forum

Nope I dont.  Neither does Laundry Lady, nor Crasy. This has been brought up before.
I doubt SMF would agree either.
