That's the whole idea. To have the same features on all the SMFforFree forums. That way you all have a level playing field and don't abandon your forums to run to a new server.

No it's not pointless. For a free service, we get a lot. SMF should open another server(which he pays for btw) so everyone can abandon all the forums they made and run over and fill up another server?

No its really not, let's say you wanted to park a domain, that feature was first introduce to server 4. Let's say you had server 3, and you as tried to park but you couldnt cause he didn't update it. That would throw off alot of owners and they would all want to update. But smf for free is smart so he adds it to all the servers so you get the same features. I mean I wouldnt want to throw away a succesful fourm on server 2 for some features on server 4 so its better that he updates.

Agree, Bunnypal. I have had my forum on Server2 for a year now, and with another host before that. My members made the trip to SMFforFree with me, but I couldn't tear them out of their comfy home for a little bling that we were going to get anyway when SMF updated the servers.

The server numbers have absolutely nothing to do with the content of the server.

They're just different servers.

And remember that any new features on SMF5 will eventually be intergrated into SMF's 1-4

For instance, the automatic youtube imbedding that was so popular with SMF4 has now been put on SMF2 (I know that one, I'm guessing the others have this too)
