HOW DO I INSTAL DOWNLOADS?

IM very new to smf and forums, if I download something of of simplemachines.org how do I put it on my forums?

Im trying to change my theme like from my files so I want to update it so i can. Please help

You cannot install themes.
You CAN change the stylesheet however.
There are dozens of stylesheets created by forum members here. The directions for using them are at the top of the Index's:
