Hello.

I set up a new forum here a few days ago (and incidentally, this forum software is flat-out the best I've ever encountered), and by the sheerest happy accident the Mercury theme could not have been more perfect for my use had I designed it myself -- with two exceptions:  the color of the forum title in the headers on all pages (#000000), and the background color of quoted text in posts (#c0c0c0 or thereabouts).  I simply want to change the color of the forum title in the headers on all pages to #666666, and the background color of quoted text in posts to #e0e0e0 (or thereabouts), but I can't find any way to access the style sheet in order to make those changes.

Is there a way to accomplish this?

Thanks for any replies.

Unfortunatly no on the Mercury theme
With the default theme you may customize such areas(and more) with the style sheet editor. Otherwise...you're stuck.

The editor is for the default them only unfortunatly

Yes, I saw that, and was almost tempted to simply redo the default theme from scratch, but the Style Editor insists that I create a NEW theme which I then can't access from my forum after it's created.

Or am I doing something wrong there?

Yeah I think you are...
or you're just confused (as confused a me when I fisr used the editor)

I'm not EXACTLY sure what you mean so I'll simply describe the editor to you and how to use it..(I'm sure I might just be pointing out the obvious to you right now)

Switch your board default and yourself to display the Default Theme (SMF Default Theme is the exact name)
Go to the AdminCP-->Manage Styles-->Click Create Style

Name the style(with the little form called Style Name:)
You can ignore the rest of the boxes below if you know how to properly use CSS

Hit Create style..then go to Modify Style...pick your style from the drop down menu and then have fun with CSS (the best part lol)
(I'm assuming you figured out up until here)
Click Home..under style picker choose the style you just made
Now make sure you and the rest of your members are set to SMF Default Theme

If I'm understanding what your confused about how to display you're new style? The style sheet simply modifies the Default theme..it doesn't create a whole new theme or you don't need to create a whole new theme either

Aha!  Now I see, said the blind man.  Problem solved (that one, anyway).

Thanks, crasyandconfused.

 Smiley

Turns out that modifying the SMF default theme via the Style Editor won't work for me as I can't alter enough to get it to look like I want it.   The Mecury theme is just so perfect for my purpose, that I can't bear to part with it.  If only I could find a way to make those few alterations....
