The only thing you can currently have appear on your portal page is a topic (the one you select when you set it up). SMF is working on being able to add additional things to the portal in the future.

Forum Url: http://absc.smfforfree3.com
The images you edit for your sidebar will be done in a Editing Program..Corel Draw, PhotoShop, GIMP. Once you've posted the code, whether it be in the headers or footers via the instructions for the code you are using, look for the width of the sidebar. That can be adjusted some by changing the number. On my site I have the sidebars a different widths. I have adjusted the shout box or cbox to match the width of the Sidebar by adjusting the cbox code width to match the sidebar code width. The width and height changes are in Blue in the example below.

Example

<table align=center valign=top>
<tr><td height="100%" valign=top>

<table align=center valign=top>
<tr> <td width="130" valign=top><small>
<center><div class='titlebg2'><b>Welcome!</b></div>

<div class="tablepad" border='1'><span class='desc'><center>
<br>
<center><b>
<Welcome to the ABSC Forums!</b>
<center><font size="1"><b><BR><BR><br><br></center>
</span></div></div>

<center><div class='titlebg2'>Mandatory Reads</div>
<div class="tablepad"><span class='desc' ><font size="1">
<a href="URL LINK</a><br>
<a href="URL LINK">Local News</a><br>
<a href="URL LINK">Rules and Guildlines</a><br>
</font><br><br>
</span></div></div>

<center>
<div class="titlebg2">Chat Box </div>
<div class="tablepad"><span class='desc' >
<!-- BEGIN CBOX - www.cbox.ws -->
<div align="center" id="cboxdiv">
<iframe frameborder="0" width="110" height="305" src="http://www3.cbox.ws/box/?boxid=xxxxxxx&boxtag=xxxx&sec=main" marginheight="2" marginwidth="2" scrolling="auto" allowtransparency="yes" name="cboxmain" style="border:#3F6C75 1px solid;" id="cboxmain"></iframe><br/>
<iframe frameborder="0" width="110" height="75" src="http://www3.cbox.ws/box/?boxid=xxxxxxx&boxtag=xxxx&sec=form" marginheight="2" marginwidth="2" scrolling="no" allowtransparency="yes" name="cboxform" style="border:#3F6C75 1px solid;border-top:0px" id="cboxform"></iframe>
</div>
<!-- END CBOX -->
<br><br>
</span></div></div>

Same for inserting images. Find the width of the sidebar, when you create the image the width should not be the same width as the sidebar rather a few pixels smaller to allow the sidebar to remain the same size. If not then the sidebar will expand in width to allow for the image.

If I can be of any help, let me know. Send me a pm.

Good Evening,

I love the code but I am feeling like sort of a moron.  I have a site that is using the exact same side bar that has been posted here.  But I have seen the same side bar used where it fills the left side of the forum space.  The cells will go all the way up along side the header pic instead of being squashed together under the header.  I am not sure if I explained this right.. I am actually suprised I got this far with this forum work.. Can anyone give me any tips.. Thank you reading...

Scorpious.

I believe if you put a image into the headers it will take the space above the forum. But if you go into admin>current theme>logo image url box....and post an image there your sidebar should go all the way up the forum beside the image. Hope this helps.
