ok really quick, and thanks for taking a look . . .not much there yet, but I want to get the look right before I start filling it, lol.
What I am talking about, is you can set the background to a graphic and lock it in place so the page scrolls above the background image.  My background image is on the site, but I want the posts and topics to be transparent so the background can be seen behind all the text. Here is the URL

http://dragonskeep.smfforfree.com/index.php

And thanks again for taking a look! :)

I think you need to edi the stylesheet and change some of the selectors to background-color: tansparent;

I'm not sure if you have looked at that specific css sheet or not, yet . . .am I editing the wrong selectors?  I know I changed several to transparent, but it seems to ignore me  . . .maybe I 'm just crazy . . . I have only been working with css for a few days . . .my apologies if I just sound plain stupid

Right now I don't see you overriding the default style sheet.
You are still using the old one <link rel="stylesheet" type="text/css" href="http://www.smfboards.com/Themes/default/style.css" />

You need to goto manage styles create a stylesheet.
Set it as default.
Then edit stylesheet and you change some of the selectors.

I am going to try to improve this in the future.

Thanks to both of you . . .I did look into your sheets there, Crasy, but I like to try to get something working myself, first.  :)  However . . .call me an idiot if you like, but I cannot for the life of me find an option to set the new style sheet as default . . . .

Hmm,remind me i think i need to add a little action after the stylesheet url so it doesn't stay cached in internet explorer.

Looks good though :)
