Code:
<meta name="description" content="YOUR DESCRIPTION(S) HERE">
Code:
<meta name="keywords" content="YOUR,KEYWORDS,HERE!">

 This coding gives a description or "Key Words" to search engines. Also it is a short description to others of your website. Just thought I'd hand this out... I was checking out some meta/meta tag tutorials and... well... I came up with this... I know its not very good but... Its Helpful! Smiley

 EDIT: I had to create two different codings. The description describes your site. and keywords are for search engines which word by word describes your site. Sorry about the mix up... theres no way with my knowledge that the two will work together(IN ONE META)... I have no.. preview... Etc... So Please don't ask and remember enjoy!

 EDIT2: The Meta tag " Keyword " is fixed.

These codes are just help to drive a little extra traffic to your site(s). Just thought I'd be a little helpful Smiley Smiley Smiley Smiley .. .. for once! lol .... Enjoy folks!

Enjoy.

Don't meta tags HAVE to be in the head section?

Putting anything in your header to try to change the meta tags will not work
If you view source code you will see that it makes no changes to the meta tags by putting it in your header.
Same goes for the keywords..   it won't change them.
Reason being?   The meta tags go before the title AND the header.
You have no way to put them there.
If you view source code for your forum you will see that for <meta name="description" the content has the name of your forum.  You can also see <meta name="keywords"      .  You have no way to add TO nor change that.

description would be - description of your site
keywords?    Same thing as putting keywords in a Search engine (like Google) when you are searching for something

As mentioned further in this thread this wont work however..   you cannot change the metatags.
(we probably shoulda deleted this long ago)

Note my post earlier in this thread:
