Fixing java in WindowsXP is so easy.  You can  spend hours on google trying to find the right codes because I find google sometimes bull crap.

The ones under are for your laptop only.  Go to computers, right click then propeties.  Advanced envirment variables.  These are the system variables.

I did this and it fixed my java, so I thought it might help you.  Make sure you have adobe, and java installed.
