Forum Url: http://everything.smfforfree3.comAt this time, I have the mod installed, all the cute outfits and such installed, and I even made my own little living avatar dollie. But problem is, I cannot use her on my forum because the avatar settings don't include "Use Living Avatar" along with the currently available options of "Personalized Picture", "I have my own pic", and "I will upload my own pic". How do I go about making my living avatar something that can be seen in my forum? Am I missing the ability to make my living avatar usable? Thanks in advance! |

You can not upload your own living avatars. You CAN post them here for SMF to add, if he chooses. That is what this section of the forum is for. At this time there are only the Chibli Life Living Avatars to choose from. |

It appears there may be something wrong with the Living Avatar Mod that SMF put on for us. I am having problems with it also. I don't normally use it for my members.

Server 3, Getting parent/child board errors in it. Tried deleting everything and reinstalling. No go. Images just are the red x type. It may have been down since the last update. http://thebacklot.smfforfree3.com/ |

Hmm we may need to let SMF know about this.
It works fine on server 2.
I tried it on my server 3 site and I also get a red x in the avatar area at the top of the forum.
The items do show up in the Edit and purchase areas but when saving the avatar its a redx up top

im using smfforfree4 and its showing normal so it must be smf 2 and 3.

Its fine on 2 pker own fine on 1 and 4 also (and freesmfhosting, mysmf) Just seems to have this problem on 3 |

What my problem is, is that while I can install the living avatars, and people can buy things for them - outside of that, they cannot show them off in their posts. I assume that is why this feature is available. Right? Otherwise, I think I am completely missing the point of the feature. Why would anyone want to spend their post points earned on decorating their living avatar, only for no one to be able to see their creation? How is this supposed to be something you can link to the posts? Or is that not what it's there for? |

You are missing this in your Profile > Forum Profile Information?
Did this just recently happen or has it been that way all along?
(see attached)
When you click the "Click here to create or update your LIving Avatar" link it takes you to the place to create it. When you Save it there it does put it in place as your avatar.

Going to check it out now and if it doesn't change for me, I will screenshot my settings for you to see.
Edited Update: I can save it, but it cannot be used. I am not sure if this is because I'm on server 3 and the avatar deal seems to be hosted from server 2. Not sure if that makes a difference, but it doesn't show up at all like it should for me. I create the avatar, save it, and then I go to my profile and I see that it automatically switches to the URL put into the "I have my own picture" text area, but when I click change profile to apply the change and view my posts - nothing shows up. In fact, I no longer have an avatar at all then. See screenshots below:   |

Did you click the bluish colored "Click here to create or update your LIving Avatar" link right under the Living Avatars image ..the one in your screenshot?
From there you buy things for your avatar and edit your avatar.
After doing that be sure to save it on that same page.
