Hmmm, that is weird.  I had this account and it got deleted due to inactivity so I got a new one and uploaded this file.  I will delete it and get another one and upload it.  Thanks for letting me know there was an error there. :)  I hope this is the only glitch.....we shall see! :)
File hosts don't usually allow you to take right off of them.

« on: September 25, 2008, 09:17:47 pm »
That is a mod from smfhacks.com

This is not available if you host on smfforfreeX.com.
I host off of godaddy.com

www.rubsca.com

You are still hosted under smfforfree2.com.

Hey,

I want to configure my forum so when geusts visit my site, they have to register first before they can see my forum.

Is this possible?

Thanks in advance

When you create the boards you can checkmark which membergroups you want to be able to view the boards.  Uncheck Guests.
For boards you have now, modify each of them and uncheck Guests.
Can't believe you missed this because I hear from you a lot:

One board must be visible to guests, as stated at the TOS(http://www.smfforfree.com/terms.php)

The TOS was revised many weeks ago.
That is no longer mentioned as being a TOS Violation... that is why I did not mention it.

I don't really come here a lot :P

We do not offer database backups.    You would have to start from scratch.
That's a real shame.

1. Visual Basic is a language that may compile to an .exe. Executable(EXE) files cannot be put on web pages.

2. SMF is also not a file host(unless you were to host it somewhere else, but than there's still my first point).

Java / Make Java archive(JAR) without batch
« on: September 14, 2008, 05:29:39 pm »
This is if batch doesn't work.

Make a file called *.zip

Add a folder called META-INF.
Add a file in that folder called MANIFEST.MF(open it with notepad)
Code: (MF) [Select]
Manifest-Version: 1.0
Created-By: 1.6.0_07 (Sun Microsystems Inc.)
Main-Class: main

MAKE SURE IT ENDS ON A BLANK LINE!!!

Main-Class: the class that will be executed first.
Created-By: YOUR JDK VERSION

------------

Put all those files in *.zip

Rename to *.jar
Execute.

In case you didn't figure it out already, *.zip means whatever you want to call it.

-----------
Jar is the same compression as Zip.
