Which programming languages do you all basically understand?
I mean you have the ability to look at any document or program and be able to understand basically what is happening.
For me...(X)HTML, CSS. That's it...I plan to learn more someday. Like Javascript, PHP and SQL. However PHP and SQL will have to wait(a while)
Javascript I'm trying to learn now. That's all I can understand...
Anyone else?
-
I used nearly all of them ASP Assembly, C,C++,C#, Cobol, CSS, HTML, Java, Java Script, MySQL, PHP VB, VB.net, XML.
-
I lern only BBCode and very lil HTML very quite liltle
-
Usually if you google whatever language you want to learn a million tutorials will come up. A good way to learn..or at least get a basic understanding.
And BBCode isn't really a programming or design language. Just a modified code for forums posts.
-
i kno but BBCode comes in handy when u make ur own forums or join many forums
i knoe lil bit HTML,,,im lazy enough to lern HTML more than i knoe
-
Voted - all :)
bbcode is a (very) stripped down version of html for forums
and crasyandconfused is right, google is the best place to learn any programming language IMO
-
I used w3schools.com for HTML and CSS
You all have any reccomendations for Javascript? I need better place to learn.
-
i dont like w3schools.com cos its messy and looks ugly.
but it has a great collection of tutorials if u can get past that
-
Yeah..it is plain. But simple, which is always good when learning something simple like HTML and CSS. I just find they don't go into enough detail with functions for Javascript which from experience functions are pretty imporant in Javascript! Where did you learn Javascript?
Edit: 400 posts...wow
-
I know HTML and a little of PHP.
-
At school I was taught how to program in B.A.S.I.C :-[
What a lot of use that was to me :D
-
better than my school. In high school I think in 2002 I was learning cobol which was already ad dead language.
-
I plan to someday plan learn computer programming languages as well. Someday...in the far ahead future.
BASIC is for those stamp things right? I think I might have to learn that in the future in school as well.
Edit: Never heard of COBOL. Heh, never plan to learn it either if it's dead...
Edit2: I heard to learn last year(Grade 9) how to properly use Microsoft Word. Slightly easy :2funny:
We had about 10 pages of work for the entire year. Mostly making a table, word art, changing fonts and borders. The simplest things...I had it all done in about 2 weeks. I spent the rest of my time playing with photoshop. (They hid photoshop from us but neglected to actually take it away. Create a blank .psd on Notepad and open it..I had Photoshop.

same with my school too, they hid photoshop from us, but if you go to your desktop, there is a way to get it. but it was the first photoshop out there :o not much you can do in there.

Batch files are pretty much the easiest to understand....probably because they came out before they had java c++ and all that other "fancy" languages

Don't worry. Let him do it. At least he knows what to post. :police:
-
I know, he's a great coder. Just wanted to share that little fact. :)
-
I vote with java
-
I know pretty much all of HTML, a little JavaScript, A bunch of CSS but I haven't found any use for it yet, and some very tiny amount of BASIC. I only use BASIC for my own entertainment or when I'm bored. I code anything to pass the time.
The only two places I learned is Youtube for most of my HTML, and W3Schools for the rest of HTML, JS, and CSS. I learned some BASIC from a book, the rest from various websites (is the code in batch files BASIC?).

QBasic, Qb64 , and then I never thought of html as a programming language,..but I enjoy useing it for web site work, and useng the "hypetext markup languge" (HTML), also to link to files quickly in my computer,..CSS I know very little about, but would like to learn more about PHP, and SQL too. I am pretty much self taught,...slowly trying to learn more about all of it.
