I use Windows Notepad when writing my webpages.   I tend to not like gui interfaces and prefer to do it myself so that if something goes wrong I know where to look to fix it.   

There is an excellent Notepad replacement called Notetab Lite.  I have used it and can vouch for it.. its very good.
