Just thought I'd share this with everyone. Quite a few people would like to add a spell check to their site. Well here is a free service you can add to your forum supplied by Spelling Cow. Just place this code into the header section.
PLEASE BE ADVISED...IF YOU PAY FOR AD REMOVAL, YOU WILL HAVE AN AD INSERTED FROM SPELLINGCOW

Code:
<script type="text/javascript" src="http://buttercup.spellingcow.com/spell/scayt"></script>
<script type="text/javascript">
<!--

var sc_ayt_params = {ayt_default : 'off'} ;

//-->
</script>

No editing is required. After you type your post, if you look below the text input box, you'll see a box. Place a check mark in that box. Any spelling mistakes will be highlighted in yellow. Simply click on the highlighted word, and pick a replacement word from the popup list. The new word will replace the mis-spelled one.

This looks pretty good.  I will try it out in my forum as I have been spelling challenged in the past.

I own quite a few different types of forums, and I use this on all of them. However...I should mention that this will also show up in the header/footer section. However, since admins are the only people that have access to those areas, you should be ok.

I noticed that Gordie.  It can be turned off easily though when working in there and won't effect them if you do so I think its not bothersome.

Gordie, this is great! The key for all to remember, though, is to click the box AFTER you type your post. If you use Sibyl's clickable smileys, they won't work correctly if you use the "Spellcheck while I type" option.

anyone know of a spell check program that doesn't use American spelling (sorry people) but some of your spelling is not correct in other countries  Smiley standard English spelling is what I need  Kiss

Gordie, thank you so very much.  So many of our members have requested this, and I just now saw this topic thanks to Bunnypal.  Thanks for the code.

Did you enable it by clicking in the little spell check box?

Which forum do you have it on?  Is it in there now?  If it is leave it there so we can see what the problem may be.

If not put it back in so we can see.
