[guide]Poll+chatbox+playlist

CHATBOX(to get to header/footers admin-manage styles-headers/footers)(news=admin-edit news)
step1.Go to xat.com then go to widgets
step2.Press the button create chatbox
step3.Choose a backround if you want custom backround put in your photobucket/tinypic code then search images
step4.Choose size just change around the numbers but be careful
step5.Press update and get code
step6.Scroll down till you see embed code then press the copy button
Step7.Paste it to your headers/footers or your news
POLL
This is almost the same as the chatbox
step1.go to widgets on xat.com
step2.press the Create poll button
step3.Add in say 5 questions
step4.Change the backround if you want just put in the url of the image if you want a Custom image
step5.press update and get code scroll down till the embed code and press copy
step6.Paste it into your headers/footers or news

Playlist
step1.go to playlist.com
step2.Search a song(e.g Blame it on the alcohol)
step3.press the add track button then go so on
step4.on your playlist go to get embed code
step5.choose a backround colour then get code copy it by highlighting then right click-copy
step6.Go to your headers/footers then paste that code in there

You can also add these in board descriptions as well
or a HTML portal block. It will keep your headers
and footers from becoming to large and over
powering your forum itself.   
Also C~ box I feel is better then xact and you
can customise it to match your theme.

Hey MarMar,

Ive have just recently started a Smfnew forum and i wanted to add as chat box.
When you say add the code to the footer and header things .. what does that mean?
I cant seem to find the header or footers. can you please tell me where they are and how to access them from the forum? Thankyou

If you are hosted through SMF For Free it will be Admin CP > Manage Styles > Headers/Footers

If you are not hosted through SMF For Free you will need to go to your forum host or if you are hosting yourself you will need to go to http://simplemachines.org for support

It will tell you how to add an HTML block to your portal. You can add your chatbox to the HTML block ;)
