I got that message every time I was trying to add a picture to our gallery, maybe because I am on dialup. We are slowly getting all posts moved over found that I and another manager were duplicating some efforts and not realizing. I think might keep gallery for host pics like our banner and chat icons. also need to learn to add footer to show link to our chat

Now that I've figured out how to add pictures to the gallery at my forum, how do I add a picture to my message when I post?  I tried testing it out by clicking on the button that means "insert image," but I'm stuck on what to do when the brackets appear.  Thanks in advance!

To place an image in a post put the direct link to the image inside the brackets like so:

Code:
[img]image url[/img]

I must be doing something wrong. I add a category. Set permissions. But do not see the category or any way to load pics into the gallery.

Are you setting the permissions thru the Manage Categorys page?

Set Category Permissions

After you Add a Category you will be back at the Manage Categorys Page.
Click the Permissions link across from the Category you just created.
Here you set Permissions for your Membergroups.
Use the dropdown box, choose a Membergroup.
Put checkmarks in the boxes you wish the Group to have access to use.
Click the Add Permissions Button.
Do this for all of your Membergroups

CATEGORY PERMISSION LIST
You can check/edit your Category Permissions here

You have 25mb of space for your Gallery.

How many images can be uploaded is going to depend on how you have set things up,  size of the images, etc.
You need to setup a maximum file size.
You can setup Membergroup Space limits.   (From the settings page click File Space Manager)

Go back to the beginning of this Guide and read thru it -  it explains the settings on the settings page, etc.
