« on: April 14, 2008, 04:52:52 pm »
As we mention often to clear your browsers cache I thought I would stick this in here so that its easily found how to do it in (most) all browsers.    If you use a browser not included in this list pm me and I'll add it.

Click Tools
Click Internet Options
Click Delete Files.
Click OK on the Delete Files dialog box.
Click OK.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Clearing Cache on Microsoft® Internet Explorer 7.0
Click Tools
Click Delete Browsing History
Click Delete Files in the Delete Browsing History dialog box.
Click Yes.
Click Close.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Clearing Cache on Netscape® Navigator 9.X
Click Tools and select Options.
Click the Privacy.
Click Clear Now under the Private Data section.
Check the box Cache and Clear Private Data Now.
Click OK.
Close and re-launch your browser.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Clearing Cache on Firefox 1.0 - 1.5
Click Tools and select Options.
Click the Privacy Icon.
Click Clear next to the Cache section.
Click Ok.
Exit and relaunch the browser.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Clearing Cache on Firefox 2.0 - 3.0
Click Tools and select Options.
Click the Advanced icon and click the Network tab.
Click Clear Now under the Cache section.
Click Ok.
Exit and relaunch the browser.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Clearing Cache on Opera
Click Tools menu
Click Delete Private Data.
Click the Details button.
If you do not wish to delete cookies, saved passwords, etc., remove checks from them in the list.
Press Delete.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------

AOL 7.0 - 8.0 - 9.0
Close your browser.
Click Start, select Settings and Control Panel.
Double-click Internet Options.
Click Delete Files.
Click OK on the Delete Files dialog box.

Another way through the Command Prompt:
Start > Run > Enter 'cmd.exe'.
Type in 'ipconfig/flushdns'.

That should clear your DNS cache.

It's a good guide but whats the point of clearing cache?

Every time you visit a webpage, forum, etc your browser downloads every picture, html file, css file, etc to your computers hard drive to the Temp Files Folder.  If you NEVER empty your cache that folder gets HUGE and can slow your browser down tremendously.   There are also times it can cause some problems with java, etc.   Its always wize to clear it once in awhile.   Clearing history and other things also removes your tracks.  For security reasons that means its a GOOD idea to clear it.

Firefox 3.0
Tools>Options
Go to advanced
Hit network
There should be a box with offline storage where you can select how much to store in the cache.
There should be a button that says clear now. Click that.

3lf thanks. I forgot to add Fox 3.0 when it was released.   Settings are the same as in 2.0 so I edited the list abit.. shorted it up by putting some of them together  (made sense)
