You can also embed that code of the video inside a board description and it will show up there. Not sure if people want to do that but I put this flash in mine just as you stated here LL and watched it and had the opportunity to see 5 videos not just one. just a thought. LL.. great idea you have here. Thanks for Sharing.

What I like about doing it my way is your peeps don't have to leave your site to see the video.

It should, you just need the url to the vid. The reason I used the YouTube is because they mess with their url and you have to dig to get the right one. I haven't tried the Google ones.

Forum Url: http://ngorx.smfforfree3.comHi there! Before, the only way we can embed Youtube videos was to copy and paste the URL link and then higlight the whole link and click on the Insert Hyperlink code. Recently, I found that its no longer necessary to use that particular code. A simple copy and paste of the Youtube URL link suffices. But with the introduction of the Canadian version (as we are a Canadian forum), it is necessary to delete ".ca" from the URL as in http://ca.youtube.comjust to successfully embed the video.

We are using the flash code, so we don't do the embed code in posts. The guide was for putting them in the posting sections as opposed to the headers and footers.

I have not tried Google videos so I am afraid I can't help you there. If you can find the URL of the video itself it might work.

Hi, I was wondering, does this add a link to the you tube, or does it put the you tube into your post? I cant get it to do either thing. Thanks for any help with this.

This is an older Guide. With the last update to the service, you should have auto embed of videos on your forum.

I thought Youtube videos(the links that have the videos on them) are eaten(...) by the PHP than excreted as a video? I tried it on a forum once, and it played back as a video. Is there some setting that controls this?

THis is an old Guide Kalphite and no longer needed. A video embed mod was added to the forums awhile back. Now when you post a YouTube link in a post it automatically embeds the video into the post.
