Gimp is a good program - can do transparencys, there is an animation pkg, etc.
Ive not used it but know of many who do.

Just curious if anyone has used Xara. It was recommended to me, but wanted some other opinions first.  Thanks

I prefer Adobe Photoshop CS2, but the only way to get that for free is illegal xD GIMP is ok, but I really don't like it Tongue A lot of the graphics masters I know use GIMP though Tongue

If you want a good graphics program for free, then get The GIMP

Some good sites for tutorials
http://gimptalk.com
http://gimp-tutorials.com

And these are masters of GIMP although they make easy tuts for newbies too!

I'm not the best at GIMP myself Cry
