i have a question,
How do i ad new sections for them to fill out when they register like day of birth and stuff

Use Custom Profile Fields
This Guide has some examples:
Custom Profile Fields
   
Btw they can put their birthdate in their profile.  That way it will show up on the calendar.
If you do it thru a Custom Profile Field at registration it will not.
