Ok, on  your first problem.  I get the same result no matter what I try.  Let's see what Agent Moose has to say.

On the second problem, you need to tell us what code you are using so we have an idea where to start.

Always post your forum URL and the code exactly as you are using it on your forum.  If you can leave it in your forum, it's even better.

foxlvon.freesmfhosting.com

I was searching how to put colors on the names, So someone said put [color=HEXCOLOR ] on the name you want to change the color too. But now the name change of color, but it has that Color thing appearing on it.. And I want it colored but without that thing

Example on foxlvon.freesmfhosting.com, Mikoshawa (Test User)

You cannot do that in Account Related Settings > display name
Only thing you can put there is your name

You can change the color your name will be in the online list by modifying your membergroup and putting only a color code where it says Color in Online List.  (see attached)

If you are trying to make your name colored all over the forum you'll have to use the code that Moose wrote to do that.

Your name shows:   [color=#FF0000]Mikoshawa in your posts, everywhere on your forum.

I know that Rednight said to do that but every single test site that I have on every server it will not work and never has.  I had pmed Red to see if they have a code installed there that could be doing it as putting bbcode in your display name in account related settings is gonna show that bbcode on your forum.     Honestly.. have tried it several times myself, as have others.  (both with and without the #)
