Forum Url: http://belenmesa.smfforfree4.com/index.php/board,1.0.html
When I go to my forum page, I can see all the posts and topics, etc.
I'd like to be able to make people log in before they can see any topics, any messages, etc. changing the permissions
doesn't seem to help . Is there a way I can make every put in a password before they can see anything?

Is that possible?

Admin > Boards
Modify each board and uncheck Guests

Be aware that SMF for Free's Terms of Use states you must have at least ONE board viewable to Guests.

I guess I don't understand the difference between a guest and a regular user. I understand that the guest is not logged on and the user is, but shouldn't the guest have to at least put in a password in order to see the topics? I need to make a private forum. Is that available with the pay version only?

I looks like it will work if I send people to the general user forum
http://belenmesa.smfforfree4.com/index.php/board,1.0.html
which is underneath my main forum page. But it sounds like there's actually no real "guest"

They have to either log in (as a regular user) or register (which will make them a  regular user - right?)
