Ok, I'm getting the beat down from my ma!!! knuppel2

She is constantly riding me about NOT being able to upload pics, and all those crumby ads!!!

What do I need to do to "upgrade" our forum to have UNLIMITED photo uploading space and be AD FREE all month long?
is this even possible??

I've looked through stuff, but its all really confusing seeing different ad free amounts and upload limits...
for 50,000 ad free credits, I'm not sure how that works... like, how many would I need to purchase (on the ONE TIME payment) to go a whole month without any ads at all.

Also, to be honest, I don't really know the diff between the 25mb and 100mb (can someone tell me approx. how many pics would each mb hold??)
Basically, how much a month would it cost me and are the attachment money amounts for a ONE TIME payment or PER MONTH (the ad free tells but the attatchment one doesn't-I don't want to pay and then be billed each month without knowing it).

Also, does upgrading REMOVE the "smfforfree" from our

Sorry for so many questions uglystupid2, but thank you in advance to anyone that can help me. Smiley

Upload space.  It is hard to tell you how long it will last as that is going to depend on how quickly that space gets used up -  that depends on how many of your members use the attachment space, upload avatars, size of the files etc.    It is a one time fee.   If you run out of space you can always buy more at a later date, whenever you choose to.  There are settings you can set in Attachments & Avatars to help with size limits.  You can also delete attachments, avatars at anytime thru that section, or run maintenance there to delete old attachments and avatars.  This Guide will help you with the settings in that section:   Admin CP Attachments & Avatars Section Guide

Ad Free Credits -  50,000 means 50,000 page views/page reloads.
Again it would be impossible to tell you how long that would last.. its going to depend on how active your forum is.

No these upgrades do not remove the "smfforfree" from your url.

Sibyl, Thank you so much for your help... I guess it does make sense that there is no way to tell how many pics, cause pic sizes do vary.  Roll Eyes

I'll give my ma a call and give her this info this evening.
Thank you so much.

You could always use a free photo host such as Photobucket or Imageshack for your images and attach them with [ i m g ] tags to give you an infinite solution.

SMF for Free takes care of the upgrades and will do so as he feels they are needed.
1.1.5 was a very minor upgrade and not a huge necessity - no new features.

Uploading packages, installing mods , is not available - free forum hosting services generally do not allow that.

Nope, sorry.   You could check the Codes Index to see if someone wrote a code for that..  Im not sure
Codes Index

You can limit which Membergroups have access to boards.
When you set the boards up checkmark only the Groups you want to access them.
