You already have the link to your forum in your siggie here, but do you use it when you join other forums? I would suggest if you do you shrink it a little as some places put limits on the sizes.  Not all forums will allow you to do that, but think about it.  Have you considered making an affiliate code that you can ask other forums to put on their forums or websites?

Write content, have a reason for people to signup. I seen a lot of forums either have projects, a goal, or good content has the main reason they join.

Wide demographics are sometimes the biggest issues for a forum.

If you are targeting a wide demographic...then you are probably one of a million forums out there that do target your demographic.

So what you need to do is offer something new and exciting. Maybe competitions, games, trivia, different styles of running your forum and ways to keep your members hooked.
