Well I use to play RuneScape and figured out how to make a RuneScape Private Server. Later I decided to try others out. I found a really good one about a year ago and been on it ever since. At least the forums that is. The forums were SMF and I liked the set up. Anyways that's how I found out about SMF I have made a forum myself as well. Keep up the good work SMF!

Like a lot of people i guess, i stumbled upon it via Google.

As a member of a few forums i much prefer the user interface and styling of the SMF platform as it is very easy and simple to use but allows for such a high degree of customisation so that each board carries its own subtlties

Just realized I never replied to this one.

Over two years ago my forum was with another host and running phpBB.
It was clumsy, lacking alot, and their service and support was horrendous.
The forum was down, more then it was up.   My members had about had it.
I knew about the simplemachines software, liked the way the forums work,
so did a Google search and came upon Smf For Free.   I browsed all through
the support forum before signing up for a forum and found it very helpful here.
That was a plus in my book as I had no idea back then how to do anything with
the software.     Was a wise move.. members are happy..  forum works great.

Brawler's Paradise (BP)
http://newssbb.smfforfree3.com

was started as a splinter from the GameFAQs Super Smash Bros. Brawl Social Board
and has done very well
I did a little searching and decided I liked SMF's forum style better than alternatives (invisionfree, proboards, vBulletin)

we also have a test forum

I just googled somethings about free forum hosting.
I chose SMF because it had an arcade feature which really got me glued onto with forums that had that feature.
