Sibyl, stop picking on Florida, LOL.  I think we have more land area on the Gulf Coast than any of the Gulf States.  (those states are also known as ground zero for hurricanes)

That trailer in the siggie moves.  In fact we have moved our house as many as 5 times to get out of target range.  Last big run was Ivan the year before Katrina, it chased us all the way up to Memphis(the casino's in Tunica might have helped also)

We were evacuated to Georgia from our home on the coast.
Our home made it through the storm fine, not a problem.
The tornados and wind hit us in Georgia , leveled our car, half of my aunts house.
AFter that we stayed home and buckled down  lol

If it's your turn, it doesn't matter where you are.

so true.. only worry here is dust storms.   By the time a hurricane fizzles out and makes it up this way we are lucky to get 1/4 inch of rain

LOL, Katrina was pretty bad to my house was surrounded by our trees (around 13) bit non hit the house but my friends and neighbors, etc. Weren't as lucky...we also didn't get any flooding. I am kinda annoyed how some people are still complaining about katrina an using it asan excuse (in LA)  but being a a sourvior of the storm I have the righ to say that... I'll prob get scolded for this but like I said I don't belong here.

Past that's just my opioin!
