 2funny I think we should all know how these forums came about? Or Lets play a guessing game....well all take guessing how they came about, and then i'll try to got SMF For Free to come in here and tell us the truth!

You know, even I don't really know the answer.
I can only guess.

SMF For Free is a big man on campus for Simple Machines Forums when it came to coding. I'm sure one day he figured he'd try some big project and made this. But I'm not really sure what inspired him to make the service though!

It's not like he makes much or really any money off the service either I'd imagine.

Yes it is which is used in turn for the servers and help with development costs of this service.

Decided to do SMF after I saw phpbb forums which were not to great made this site then joined the SMF team and now run this site and make SMF mods.
