Title: Global Moderator
Post by: Songbird on October 21, 2016, 05:38:16 pm
Forum Url: http://www.muslimvilla.smfforfree.com
I'm trying to make a member into a global moderator.
This was the procedure I followed:-
Profile > Account settings > from the drop-down list select 'global moderator' > 'change profile' button to save.
Then Admin > permissions > permissions by membergroup > modify 'global moderator' > save changes.

But the new buttons for permissions aren't showing up in the forum for the global moderator .. don't know why.  Did I follow the right steps or have I miss out on something?  Please advise.  Thanks.

That should be in.

Just sure make you selected the right global moderator permissions.

The steps I followed were Admin > permissions > permissions by membergroup > global moderator (modify) > save changes.

Not sure if it will make a difference if I modify permissions by board.

And at Forum > Boards > modify  .. do i need to mention global moderator?  though the option is only for moderators.

The permissions I selected are like making topics sticky, moving topics, removing topics, locking topics and a few more.

No a global moderator can do actions to any boards.

The moderator on a board level is just a person just for that board.

Yes exactly, that's why I modified permissions by membergroup of global mod.  Don't know why it's not getting thru.   Will keep trying.
