http://io.smfforfree3.comHello,
I visited our forum today (filled in the URL when creating the topic), and the EzPortal wasn't displaying what it should. The settings are right though.
On our homepage we got 3 columns, two smaller ones on the side and one big column in the middle. The middle one is where things are glitching. To give you an idea of what it is supposed to look like, from top to bottom there should be:
- An intro text, a custom HTML block;
- A news block only visible to certain member groups (clan members actually);
- A block with the public news. But this one was replaced by the private news board!
So there are those two news boards which are set to display as blocks on the homepage. The private one has only one topic in it which stays there all the time and is always visible to members. You can't see this as guest or normal member, but the link is:
http://io.smfforfree3.com/index.php/board,20.0.html. Then the public news board should be
http://io.smfforfree3.com/index.php/board,6.0.html. This public news board was not displaying, although the board itself existed in the forum index, and it still worked about 3 days ago. Instead of the public news board, it was displaying the private news board! Still only to members if i recall correctly, but nevertheless there was no public news.
I went in the admin panel and found the long-untouched settings which should put the news block below the private news. All settings were right, including the visibility settings. Not that we touched them, or I didn't at least and I can't imagine the one other admin touching them for any reason, but it was the only thing I could check.
Then I tried changing the settings to a wrong value (set a random other board to display), which made no difference, and after changing them back to what they should be it still displayed the wrong, private news board instead of the public news. The other settings worked though; like you can collapse the private news but not the public one (which is set like that in the settings). In the end, I just disabled the public news board entirely so it at least wouldn't display wrongly.
Update: While writing this post I got an idea, and that turns out to be it. You can now only use
one news board. When I changed the private news board to display the public one instead, it worked fine. When I then re-enabled the public news board, I had two public news boards below each other. Setting the public news board to display the private news (while the private news block still was set to displaying the public one), it didn't do anything. Still two blocks displaying public news.
So the oldest block, the public news block, follows the 'lead' of the new news block. Whatever that displays, the other news block will display too.
Could anyone look into this?
If I should provide any other info, like the site's theme or so, please tell me.
By the way, another thing which broke a while ago already (but which actually has a low priority to me) is the "no new posts" icon in the board index (
http://io.smfforfree3.com/index.php?action=forum). Instead of the image it just displays the alt-text. Trying to load the image,
http://www.fussilet.com/Themes/Dark-f/images/on.gif, you get a 404. If you have a moment to spare, it would be nice to have fixed ;
)
Thank you in advance!
