Pays the cost of the servers. Right now this service costs more than makes which is not good and may lead to paid only forum model.

SMF are the costs around the same now -  took a look at the first post in this thread to see if it's been updated.       Sure isnt a cheap endeavor to run this service.

SMF For Free,

Firstly, thank you for making these forums for us! They are great and very nicely laid out. (I was looking for a good looking forum and I went through some forums like phpBB, but found them hard to work). So these forums are really easy to use! Thanks for that!

Secondly, I was wondering do you have to have a PayPal account to help the forums, or do can you donate using other means?

Once again, thanks for the awesome effort and support you provide here on the forums and thanks for the free forums!!!

I don't think that is any of our business?      (That is of course up to him)

I do, though, think that we all need to, as we can, chip in and donate .. even small amounts to help and it should never be thought of as a one time thing.    I do, as I can  (lately Ive not been able to do so)    It does help and I would hate to see it go to a paid only mode -  just not so sure it would work.

They go automatically after they are purchased. Each time someone views any page of your forum an ad free credit will be subtracted.
