Fire Fox Vrs Internet explorer
« on: September 30, 2008, 10:56:29 pm »
Hello.  I just download Fire Fox Web browser and i wanted to write a post on the difference.

Well as you have well found out by now this is about FF (Fire Fox) Vs. IE (Internet Explorer)

I have  just downloaded FF about three hours ago and it is 10 times better than IE.  It is about twice as fast,  It would normally take me 25-30 seconds to load a page now it takes a whoping 10 seconds.  (Yes I timed it)

I originally just though i had a slow connection,  and so did my parents lap top, and desktop.  But my sister on the otherhand has a new Mac laptop because her school gives them to the students for the year and she has a very fast connection and she always complains when she uses my parents computer about just how slow it really is.  I asked her what browser she used,  she said she uses firefox.  I didn't think nothing about it till I download FF.  So if you are wondering about changing or upgrading Just do it!  I have seen the results and I like them.

Thank you if you are still reading this,  The download link is at WWW.Mozilla.COM

If it was taking 25 to 30 seconds for IE to load pages then there is something going on with your system.   Not knowing what software you use,   including virus software, antispyware, firewall, etc and your maintenance practices it is hard to tell what it would be.    IE is very tied into the OS.. if you have underlying issues it WILL load slowly and those issues will not disappear by using another browser.. you will only be putting them on a shelf.

Firefox is a good browser.    Im not dissing it.. Im only letting you know that there is not one reason that explorer should have been loading pages that slowly for you.     I use both IE and Firefox pretty much on a daily basis.   They both load the same,  open pages the same for me.  I see no difference in speed.

Firefox does have slight improvement in page load times.

But we're simply talking small improvements in the HTML rendering engine and the javascript engine. But nothing big enough to cause THAT much of a difference in load times. No way.

Exactly Crazy.    That is why I said there must be something going on with the computer itself.
Malware?   There are some overblown/overdone virus scanner/everything in it programs that are resource hogs and can slow your system down.    Do you make sure EVERYTHING important is updated?   Microsoft Updates?   Flash?  Java?   Drivers?    Do you defrag the drive often?    Empty your cache?    Disk cleanup?     So many things could effect it.

We have 3 computers in our home.
The difference in load time/page load time between IE and Firefox is neglible for me.   FF "is" a "tiny" bit faster (for the reasons Crazy mentioned)  but 25-30 seconds is rediculous.

Yes i set defrags about 3 times every week.  (When i'm at school)  and keep in mind that it is also a slow connection and it could have been shear luck that our internet got faster when i downloaded FF.  It go's up and down alot

I don't like IE, it slows my computer down, and works much slower than FF.
