Unable to logon my board - DNS Error Cannot find server

Sherry and girlhues -   I can't help but think this has to have something to do with how your domains are setup.    I did some checking around.    I went to several forums on smfforfree2.com that are not using domain names.   They are working fine, loading fast, not getting any errors.   

When I try your forum girlhues, and yours too Sherry,  I do see what is happening to you.. and you are both using domains that are parked.     Might want to go back thru your settings via Godaddy and doublecheck the setup thoroughly.      This post (and the one following it with pictures) should help you with that:

I checked my settings quite a few times since this started happening and I just tried again - I do not see anything wrong.  It has been setup since September and I have not touched the settings since. The problem just started a few weeks ago and happens a few times each week.

This has been happening on and off all day AGAIN. I received a text from someone at 5:30 this morning that it was happening, a few said it happened when they tried this afternoon and I have been trying for an hour. I'm losing what members I have left! PLEASE tell me what can be done....this is EXTREMELY FRUSTRATING!

Smf - you said something about fixed domain in your first post. Is this the same problem or what?

At this point it seems the domain is more trouble that it is worth for your board. I would suggest unparking it. The dns service was down this morning restarted and came back up.

I have two questions though - I thought I read you couldn't but at this point it's worth a shot....can you change the name of the board to www.adultbabv.smfforfree2.com or move it to http://adultbabv.smfforfree.com/ ? I created the second as test board but I have not done anything with it.

My second question would be can I redirect adultbabv.com from godaddy without having any issues?

forum url's can not be changed

You could try doing a redirect (forward the url to your smfforfree2.com forum )  -  do NOT set it to mask/cloak or you will have more issues
Before you do anything with it be sure to unpark it on your forum and make SURE it is unparked.

I reset default forum url to original, the url on the site shows http://allaboutbabv.smfforfree2.com/index.php but I cannot delete ns1 or ns2. The reply I received from Godaddy - Thank you for contacting Online Support.  Before you can delete them you must make sure no other domains are using those name servers.  Then you can remove them. 



The requested deletion for the following name server FAILED:
 
NS1.ADULTBABV.COM
 
Error: host association prohibits operation

SMF - I'm not sure if you noticed my last post, but I am still having problems.  I reset the url back to the original and it is not working. Are you able to reset it? I've tried quite a few times.

That looks like a goaddy issue. Probably because you are trying to delete the nameservers that are still set as custom name servers to
NS1.ADULTBABV.COM  and
NS2.ADULTBABV.COM

You need to change domain name servers and you are set to where ever you want to point that domain to.
