On Smfforfree3 it takes ages for the page to load and sometimes it says that the timer was reset or something. It is really annoying since Smfforfree4 is a lot faster and doesn't do it. Can someone tell me is it just Smfforfree3 or would it be the Computer I gon on the Forum for?

I have a forum on server 3 myself and have been noticing it seems to be slower lately then it normally is.
Keep in mind though (with any of the servers) that weekends and evenings it may at times be slower with a lot more people on using them.

renamed the thread.     So you know, there is a bug with some of the boards here at support.   Need to always use more then one word for the topic subject or it becomes unaccessable and tosses up an error... fixed it for ya.

All the servers go through periods of slowness and lagging.  We are on Server 1.  I can assure you though that things have much improved lately with things like that.  I know SMF is doing all he can for us and when there is a genuine problem, he is on top of it as soon as he is aware of it.  It can also be do to graphics, how many you have, how detailed they are and such.  If you are on dial up, it is going to be much slower with lots of graphics.

The stupid thing is there is like nobody on the forum, that is what I am really worried about when more people join it.

I think it might just be that forum on it's own.

Server 3 always loaded pretty good for me, times it did not I just stopped it and then hit reload and it came up. I always had the slowness issue (as in it NOT loading and having to come back hours later) on my test sites on server 4. I just moved the forum to server 4...been waiting for it to load for about 5 minutes now- it is still "working" just like it did on my test sites. This is crazy Undecided

Edit: I just got this

Really? Your lagging on server3? It could just be your computer. Or it can be your forums. My server3 has always loaded very fast. Do you have alot of stuff on it? That could possibly cause lag.

Please leave your forum url when posting a report.

I have a forum on server 3 as well.    It has been fast every time Ive checked it today.
Saw your note so I checked it again.. its running fine.

Dunno what you have on your forum, if something is possibly slowing it.

I have found out the reason, its the forum stylesheet, I have set it back to default and its solved the problem.
Bit of a shame though if you want a different look to your forum

If the style was very graphical and had large images , or the file size of the images were large, yep that can slow things down abit.   Possibly the images could be optimized and made smaller;  that would help.   Also if the authoer of the style adds it to styleyourforum.com the images would reside on the server - it would go faster.
