Just mine from what I can see. I logged in as my husband
and I was able to check his account PMs. It closes
out my site every time I check my messages

Logged in and I can pm you there fine.. had no issues.. using IE here myself.
Try deleting the cookies on your computer , cache as well, and give it another shot.. see if that helps.
edit: scratch that.. Given our pms here just now I can see there is some issue only with YOUR account there.
Will let SMF know and ask him to take a look at it.

try to do so, the IE abort comes up in a window, and knocks the site off line.
